How it connects

BIMLynx installs as a Claude Desktop extension — one file, no Node.js, no terminal. Enter your Autodesk app's Client ID and secret, ask Claude to "set up BIMLynx", approve the preview, and it creates the robot account it works as. Your Forma (ACC) admin then adds the app and invites the robot to the projects it may use.

Why self-host? Autodesk now charges for the AEC Data Model API. Running BIMLynx with your own Autodesk app means that usage draws on the capacity included with your subscription rather than on a shared service. Our hosted service is paused for new organizations until Autodesk lets customers cover API usage from their own subscription. The server is open source.
